Die Sperrung eines Blocksignals kann zum Beispiel dann nötig sein, wenn im Blockabschnitt ein [[Bahnübergänge|Bahnübergang]] gestört ist. Der Zug muss dann am Signal anhalten und den [[Befehle|Befehl]] zur Sicherung des BÜs bekommen.

Blocksignale im Selbstblock fallen auf Halt, wenn eine Fahrstraße in ein Gleis entgegen der gewöhnlichen Fahrtrichtung eingestellt wird (Fahren auf falschem Gleis). Sollten nach der Durchführung der Falschfahrt die Signale nicht wieder von allein in die Fahrstellung kommen, müssen sie einzeln mit der BlSpT gesperrt und wieder entsperrt werden. Das gleiche Verfahren kann auch benutzt werden, wenn ein Signal nicht wie vorgesehen wieder in Fahrtstellung kommt, nachdem der anschließende Blockabschnitt geräumt (durch Räumungsprüfung sicherstellen!) und das folgende Hauptsignal auf Halt gefallen ist. Kommt das Signal dann immer noch nicht in die Fahrtstellung, kann nur noch der Techniker helfen...

Purpose

A signal in an automatic block can not be locked using the Lock Signal Button. You need to use the Block Disable Button (BlSpT) instead.

Operation

The BlSpT must be pressed together with the signal button of the block signal. The signal will then drop to Stop and a yellow Lock indicator lights up.

The block signal can be unlocked again with the Block Enable Button (BlEspT).

Examples of Use
