===Gleiswechselbetrieb (GWB)===
===Track Change Operation (GWB)===

Track Change Operation (GWB), in German called ''Gleiswechselbetrieb'' (GWB), is wrong line operation or Left track operation on the open line. The infrastructure is equipped with automatic block(s) which can be used into both directions. GWB is possible between bot Sechtem and Roissdorf, as well as between Roisdorf and Bonn Hbf.
However, ''GWB'' has its limitation  because from the ''GWB'' cannot be reached from all tracks, and not tracks can be reached from ''GWB''.

The following tracks can not be accessed from within ''GWB'':

Auf den Strecken zwischen den Bahnhöfen befinden sich Erlaubnisfelder.
We have [[Direction Button|direction controls]] On the open lines towards the neighbouring areas
Das bedeutet du musst vor dem Fahren im GWB die Erlaubnis mit der Erlaubnisgruppentaste wechseln.
This means that you need top operate [[Direction Button|EaGT]] button to set the direction of the automatic blocks towards you.
Du muss den Zug richtung Sechtem oder Bonn Hbf natürlich zuerst anbieten.
Off course, you must offer a train Sechtem or Bonn Hbf to the dispatcher overthere prior to sending trains into ''GWB''.

Before you get your approval to run the service on a signal box, you need to find out about the local characteristics. After training as a general trainee signalman, dispatchers were always paired with a person skilled in the signal box. This chapter is the brief introduction to the area. Read it carefully. It contains very important information.

The text is "peer to peer" written as if you are in the signal box, the first day after training.

Have a more detailed look at the Roisdorf panel here.

Signal Box Roisdorf

General

The signal box of Roisdorf is located along the electrified double-track main line 'Linke Rheinstrecke', line number 2630 from Cologne to Mainz between the stations of Bonn Hbf and Sechtem.

Neighbouring Dispatching Areas

On the top right (track 922/902) are the connecting tracks towards the dispatching area of Bonn Hbf (KB). Wrong line operation (Gleiswechselbetrieb or GWB) towards and from Bonn Hbf is possible.

On the top left (track 041/042) the 'Linke Rheinstrecke' will leave our dispatching area to the north towards Sechtem. The station of Sechtem (KSEC) is the next controlled location in this direction. Wrong line operation towards and from Sechtem is also possible here.

Roisdorf

Roisdorf

Normally we have Roisdorf running in Sellbstbetrieb (auto fleeting) as all traffic goes via track 1 for trains from Sechtem towards Bonn Hbf, and via track 2 for traffic from Bonn Hbf towards Sechtem (and onwards into the direction of Köln).

The series SE 3500 and RB 7300 are the only services which stop at Roisdorf.

On the line towards Bonn Hbf we have two level crossings (km 26.540 and km 27.385) with full barriers. If a route has been set and the barriers have closed, we need to confirm that the level crossing is free of other traffic. You will hear a bell ringing as long as the barriers are closing. Secure the level crossing with the BüFT group button and the yellow dotted button of the level crossing. (* this is an expert option)

There is a little siding next to the station of Roisdorf. This siding can be accessed via the so-called Schlüsselsperre (key locked switch 9). There are not that many trains going or leaving from there. Anyway, the switch is operated by the shunter. You can give him control over the switch by pressing WGT together with the switch button (SWT) of the Schlüsselsperre. The key lock symbol will be flashing red. Once he has taken over control, the key lock symbol will be lit red, you will not be able to set routes into track 3 (??). Ones the shunter has finished his works, he should call you and give control back to you. The key lock symbol will be flashing red again. To finally revoke the permission for local control, you press the WSpT together with the switch button.

Track Change Operation (GWB)

Track Change Operation (GWB), in German called Gleiswechselbetrieb (GWB), is wrong line operation or Left track operation on the open line. The infrastructure is equipped with automatic block(s) which can be used into both directions. GWB is possible between bot Sechtem and Roissdorf, as well as between Roisdorf and Bonn Hbf. However, GWB has its limitation because from the GWB cannot be reached from all tracks, and not tracks can be reached from GWB.

The following tracks can not be accessed from within GWB: Folgende Gleise können nicht aus dem GWB erreicht werden:

  • Towards the north <--
    • none
  • Towards the south -->
    • Roisdorf track 1

Exit routes from tracks into GWB are not possible for:

  • Towards the north <--
    • none
  • Towards the south -->
    • Roisdorf track 1

We have direction controls On the open lines towards the neighbouring areas This means that you need top operate EaGT button to set the direction of the automatic blocks towards you. Off course, you must offer a train Sechtem or Bonn Hbf to the dispatcher overthere prior to sending trains into GWB.
