Block Reset Button

Purpose
Track circuits or axle counters are used to detect track occupancy in the automatic blocks (Selbstblock) track circuits or axle counters used to track release. Sometimes a block section does not return to its initial state (no track occupancy, signal at Proceed). In that case you can, for block sections with track circuits, reset the block manually using the Block Reset Button (BlGrT). For automatic blocks with axle counters this can be achieved by applying the Axle Counter Reset Button (AzGrT).
You could also use the BlGrT to extinguish a falsely lit Ausfahrsperrenmelder (Exit route lock indicator).
Operation
The BlGrT must be pressed together with the signal button of the signal at the end of the problametic block section. For the section after an exit signal this would be the special end button. Before the BlGrT is operated, you should first try to lock and then unlock the signal at the end of the problematic block section - perhaps this solves the problem already.
There is a counter next to this group button as operation of the BlGrT is subject to documentation.
Notes and Examples
The relays of a block section of an automatic block section (Selbstblock ) normally change to their initial state if ... :
- the block section has cleared (into direction if subsequent block signal, so not by reversing) and
- the next block signal has dropped to Stop.
For train movement that end up on the open line and reverse there (i.e maintenance trains or engineering trains), or when driving against the normal track direction (wrong line operation), the initial state may not be set automatically.
